Mashed potato
A beaten egg
A well buttered baking sheet
Preparation and cooking instructions
Peel and then chop the potatoes. Now, put the potatoes into
a saucepan and rinse well, drain off the cold water. Next
add boiling water to the saucepan and salt. Bring to the boil
and then simmer, until the potatoes are tender, drain off
the water. Mash the potatoes a little, using a fork, a vegetable
masher or a hand-held whisk, then add a knob of butter and
a little milk.
Continue mashing until the potatoes are smooth and creamy,
adding a little more butter if needed. Next, whilst the potato
is still hot, but not too hot to handle, shape the potato
into balls.
Put the balls onto the prepared baking sheet and brush with
beaten egg. Brown until golden.
